How recruitment works

Before sourcing candidates, Teamed works with the hiring organization to align on four questions: what business challenge the hire is solving, what success looks like in the first 90 days, what skills and working style will actually make someone successful, and whether the right answer is a full-time hire, a contractor, fractional support, or a blended approach. This applies whether the organization uses full-service search, the Talent Pool, or just job posting.

Employer of Record services

Teamed legally employs contractors on the client's behalf — handling tax classification (1099 vs W2), payroll, benefits administration for W2 contractors, and federal/state compliance. Onboarding is typically 24–48 hours. EOR is available both for contractors Teamed sources and for contractors the client brings.

Recruitment timeline

Same-day for clear, well-defined roles; 6–12 weeks for senior, complex, or VP-level searches. Teamed agrees on the timeline upfront and updates throughout.

The Unlimited Hiring plan is $299/month (or $209/month billed annually, $2,508/year), which adds unlimited active job posts and removes the Talent Pool hire fee. Featuring a role is an à la carte add-on at $99/week on any plan. Full-service recruitment is fee-based on the placement: 20% of first-year salary for full-time employee hires, 20% for Teamed-sourced 1099 contractors + EOR, and 35% for Teamed-sourced W2 contractors + EOR. If you bring your own contractor and just need EOR, that’s 10% for 1099 or 23% for W2. No retainers, no surprise fees — full pricing is on our pricing page.
That’s right — for our Talent Pool and full-service recruitment paths, you pay only when you hire. No retainers, no upfront search fees. We’re confident enough in the work to take on the risk with you. The exceptions are optional add-ons: featuring a role on the Job Board for $99/week on any plan, or upgrading from the free plan to the Unlimited Hiring plan ($299/month or $209/month billed annually, $2,508/year) for unlimited active job posts and no Talent Pool hire fee.
Yes — and you can do it for free. The Free plan lets you post up to 2 active jobs at no cost to test the platform and see what kind of candidates Teamed surfaces. You get applications, candidate metrics, and the ability to edit and repost. It’s the lowest-commitment way to start working with us.
No — the Talent Pool is self-service. Once you have an account, you can search and filter the full network of L&D professionals who’ve opted in, view their work samples, and reach out directly. You only pay when you hire. The Talent Pool gives you direct access to candidates that recruiters at other firms keep behind a paywall.
That’s exactly what our Employer of Record (EOR) service is for. We legally employ your contractor on your behalf — handling tax classification, payroll, benefits, and federal/state compliance. You get the talent fast; we handle the legal and administrative side. Onboarding is typically 24–48 hours, and we support both you and the contractor throughout the engagement.
It depends on the role — and we work to your timeline, not ours. We’ve delivered candidates who were hired the same day for clear, well-defined positions. For senior, complex, or VP-level roles, the search can take 6–12 weeks to do it right — multiple interview rounds, careful reference checks, and ensuring both sides are confident before the offer. Whichever path your role needs, we’ll be clear about the timeline upfront and keep you updated throughout.
The best way is to see them work. We recommend assigning a short, role-relevant task as part of your interview process — it tells you more than any resume or interview round can. One important note: industry best practice is to pay professionals for any work sample requested. Asking for unpaid work is increasingly seen as a red flag by experienced L&D talent, and the strongest candidates may opt out. Beyond work samples, we also conduct reference checks and can structure interview rounds to surface real working style.
