Job Description

Do you want to create a new academic program? Do you need to revise an outdated program? Are you interested in redesigning a few courses?

I have experience in all three areas. Currently, my body of work in curriculum development has been limited to one college, where my role of System Curriculum Manager has given me three years of experience in designing college-level courses and academic programs in several content areas, including remedial education, English, math, digital marketing, networking, and medical coding. I can develop curriculum in any content area while working with a subject matter expert.

My comprehensive curriculum development services include:

  1. Thorough research into peer institutions with similar programs to determine the "norm" in the content area and how your program or course can stand out, giving you a competitive edge.
  2. Thorough research into industry trends and employer expectations so your students are truly prepared for the workplace upon graduation.
  3. Working with a subject matter expert (either identified by me or by the client) to review the research and current program/course (if applicable) and make recommendations.
  4. Optional: Hiring a subject matter expert, including vetting resumes and conducting interviews.  (Note: Any fees for posting job ads and the expert's compensation are in addition to my hourly rate.)
  5. Creating program/course outcomes.
  6. Working with a subject matter expert to vet program/course outcomes.
  7. Mapping outcomes to program/institutional outcomes.
  8. Working a subject matter expert to develop program sequencing and determine prerequisite courses.
  9. Optional: Providing training to leadership and/or faculty on the work developed.

All work produced remains the property of the client.
