In the role of Training Specialist, you will join a dedicated team aligned to one of our key accounts supporting the design of career development training programs. This team includes learning strategists, instructional designers, writers and media developers. You will provide subject matter expertise in the area of facilities operations focused on mechanical, electrical and control systems. The team will look to you to provide technical knowledge and represent the end learner viewpoints on what’s needed for them to be successfully in their jobs. This a dynamic role where you will shift from strategic conversations to providing detailed reviews of content to drawing schematics of technical environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent learner audience insights and learning needs from a subject matter expert perspective (Facilities Operations)
  • Build effective working relationships with lead team, client, and client Subject Matter Experts (SME) to target learning needs and efficiently gather content information and feedback.
  • Support curriculum analysis to obtain an overarching view of needs and align topical areas
  • Consult with client and team to determine complexity of project and ensure overarching alignment
  • Facilitate completion of project briefs in collaboration with lead instructional strategist
  • Collaborate with core team members as well as technical experts on high-level design to analyze instructional needs, define the course requirements
  • Collaborate with project PM to manage the project efficiently through the development process so that tasks are completed on time, problems are anticipated or resolved quickly, and team members are clear on project requirements and schedules
  • Periodically write content drafts on more technically complex subject areas and/or simplify complex concepts
  • Conduct/coordinate course evaluations, with the client and Subject Matter Experts (SME), analyze feedback, and adjust the training as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of ISD (instructional systems design) and learning/training background is required; team leadership, client facilitation, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ideal backgrounds include: Former U.S. Navy/Submarine Qualified/Master Training Specialist/Power: Manufacturing/Instructional Designer/Curriculum Developer
