Technical Writer

Job Description:

Leidos Corporate Group is currently seeking a Technical Writer to join our CIO Services team. In this role, you will support development, editing, and publication of IT-related content including intranet content, organizational communications, operational communications, user guides, training materials, videos and other internal content. You must be a collaborative team player who can evaluate, recommend, plan and execute complex technical content communications in a customer friendly manner.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work on a team and individually to support communications, training and engagement activities for rolling out new and supporting existing IT services to Leidos employees
• Develop, edit, and update CIO Services intranet content, monitor pages and provide customer support by responding to employee questions
• Create instructional IT guides, videos instructions and other content for online and print end user consumption
• Create customer centric, friendly communications such as IT emails, blog posts, and articles
• Edit content for style, shorten and tighten text, edit for grammar, punctuation, organization and ease of understanding
• Establish new and follow existing standards, processes, templates, and style guides

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience writing and editing IT instructions and IT communications that are clear, simple, customer friendly, concise, and well organized following established style guides and standards
• Experience with creating professional and engaging instructional how to videos about how to complete IT tasks including screen recording and voiceovers
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong writer and editor, grammar expert with a strong attention to detail who can embrace and follow established style guides
• Strong analytical, prioritization and critical thinking skills
• Proactive, agile, adaptable and inquisitive team player who is ready for a fast paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
• MS Office expert, proficient with Camtasia, SnagIt and WYSIWYG HTML editors

Pay Range

Pay Range $59,150.00 – $91,000.00 – $122,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
