What you’ll do:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Instructional Designer to join our team. We are a growing InsureTech company looking to expand our L&D team to create awesome learning solutions that can be leveraged globally in a remote environment.

As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of effective instructional strategies and learning materials. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, your L&D team members, and stakeholders to create engaging and impactful learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design methodologies, multimedia development, project management, and a passion for creating innovative and learner-centered content. We want you to help us make learning both fun and impactful!

  • Design and Develop Learning Materials: Lead the design and development of instructional materials, including e-learning courses, interactive modules, videos, simulations, assessments, and other multimedia elements. Apply adult learning principles and instructional design theories to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Collaborate with SMEs to analyze learning needs, gather content, and ensure accurate and up-to-date information for instructional design projects. Facilitate effective communication and build strong relationships with SMEs to ensure instructional materials meet the desired learning outcomes.
  • Instructional Design Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of instructional design strategies, standards, and best practices. Stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations in instructional design, technology, and adult learning theories. Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness of instructional materials.
  • Project Management: Manage instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including graphic designers, multimedia developers, and internal communications, to ensure seamless execution and delivery of instructional materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks and reviews of instructional materials to ensure accuracy, instructional integrity, and alignment with learning objectives. Identify and address any content gaps, inconsistencies, or usability issues through rigorous testing and revisions.
  • Team Collaboration and Mentorship: Collaborate with the L&D team members to share knowledge, insights, and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders, such as subject matter experts, HR Business Partners, and project sponsors, to understand their requirements, gather feedback, and incorporate their input into instructional design projects. Maintain effective communication channels to ensure stakeholder satisfaction and engagement throughout the design and development process.

Whay you’ve done:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in instructional design or e-learning development are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, with a proven track record of designing and developing engaging and effective learning materials. Experience in a senior or lead instructional design role is preferred.
  • Instructional Design Skills: Strong knowledge and application of instructional design theories, methodologies, and best practices. Proficiency in designing for various delivery modalities, including e-learning, blended learning, and instructor-led training. Familiarity with authoring tools and multimedia development software.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints. Strong organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences. Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and team members.
  • Technological Aptitude: Proficiency in using instructional design tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond and learning management systems (LMS). Familiarity with multimedia editing software and graphic design tools. Experience with SharePoint, LinkedIn Learning, creating infographics, and Workday are a plus.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess learning needs.
