The opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Distribution Learning & Development, the Distribution Learning & Development Consultant partners with the Distribution L&D Team and the Distribution Support Team to assist with Sun Life’s Group Benefits strategy for small, mid-market, and national accounts. This role has a strong emphasis on our new hire onboarding program(s), the maintenance of quality learning materials, and administrative functions as it relates to distribution for internal and external Clients.

How you will contribute:

  • Work with Distribution L&D and internal subject matter experts to understand our new hire training programs
  • Collaborate with Distribution L&D and internal subject matter experts to design and/or maintain learning material(s) with respect to our solutions, processes, tools, and systems within our learning platforms and confluence pages
  • Work with Distribution L&D to pull reports from various systems to track learner and manager engagement, satisfaction, and feedback
  • Run and analyze reports for specific learning initiatives to communicate objectives and key results in a succinct and professional manner to stakeholders
  • Proactively conduct root cause analysis with other learning and development professionals, and propose recommendations to enhance learning initiatives and/or materials
  • Collaborate with Distribution L&D and internal subject matter experts to document and communicate departmental best practices and role based best practices
  • Serve as backup/surge resource for the Distribution Support Team, to include, but not limited to:
    • Provide a positive first impression to new hires. Order all required equipment, secure system access, business tools, business applications for new hires while staying in constant communication with each hiring manager and their new hires (EBR, NAEBR, SHPL, GMMs, AGMMs, CREs, CAs, CLMs, CRLs, CRE & CA Managers)
    • Email & System Management
      • Manage the Client Advocate and Renewal email boxes
      • Assist the Distribution Data Management Team with system testing and/or updates
      • Salesforce: assist with setting up proactive tasks and service request maintenance as needed
      • Assist with Client mailings as needed
    • Purchasing
      • Set up new vendors in Sun Life systems. Manage payment of contracts, service invoices, and purchase orders.
    • Internal Relationships
      • Process Service and Performance Guarantee checks
      • Performance and Service Guarantees Reporting
      • Monitor and manage Statutory Disability requests
      • Communications and Compliance mailings
      • Manage the ordering and distribution of Schedule A/5500 and Experience Report requests from Field Offices and Clients – (minimal volume)
      • Meeting coordination:  Work with internal and external partners to book meetings. Assist with Distribution conferences
      • Scheduling, attendee reporting, recording, notes/follow up for Webinars
      • Perform other Distribution project coordination accountabilities as required

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)

  • 2-3 years’ experience in the Employee Benefits Industry
  • 1-2 years’ experience in adult Learning & Development

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is: 

  • Southern region: $59,800 – $89,700 annually
  • Central region: $63,000 – $94,500 annually
  • Northern region: $67,400 – $101,100 annually

If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $57,000 – $85,500 annually

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $67,400 – $101,100 annually.

If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $63,000 – $94,500 annually.
