Job Description
As a member of the Steam Power Methods Team, you will be an active contributor to the Steam Power Service Business and its body of knowledge. This role will require you to leverage your Generator expertise to develop, create, revise, and maintain field procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPL), Inspection Records, Clearance Books and other methods for Steam Power Generators
Success in this role looks like:
Establish yourself as a subject matter expert by demonstrating your technical competence in converting your deep Generator knowledge into excellent outage execution support documents.
You will be an indispensable methods team member, with excellent generator expertise and the ability to convey your knowledge to Field Engineers by creating well structured, technical documentation to enable high quality outage execution.
Who You Are:
- You are someone who brings the ability to effectively convey technical processes and procedures to Field Engineers and Craft.
- You have experience with outage execution on generator equipment in the field and an in-depth understanding of the planning and execution of generator outages on customer sites.
- You have advanced experience with the service scopes of work on various generator designs, the required tooling and the technical information required to support it.
Your Role:
- Develop, standardize and improve content of Steam Power Generator Field Procedures and Methods
- Develop, create, revise, and maintain field procedures (FP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPL), Inspection Records (IR), Clearance Books (CB) and other methods for Generator products in the Steam Power fleet.
- Follow the Field Procedure revision process, implementing valid experience feedback from execution teams.
- Provide technical assistance to Field Engineers, TFA’s and GE site personnel.
- Collaborate with Steam Power ITR Core Service Engineering to create outage documentation.
- Collaborate with Services CoE Training team to develop training.
- Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work of both yourself and those you advise / assist, reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
- Travel: Less than 15% as needed in support of the above responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with 5+ years of experience in Generator Field Services or Engineering, or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6+ years of experience in Generator Field Services or, Engineering.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with General Electric water-cooled Generator equipment (Nuclear or Fossil), either design, maintenance, repair, or Field Services
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in developing technical procedures or documents.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Pro-active and autonomous worker
The salary range for this position is $83,250.00 – $138,750.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for variable incentive compensation.
