Instructional System Designer – Fully Remote!
CONSTANT is currently seeking Instructional System Designers to support the design and development of educational courses for FEMA Qualification System (FQS) Training. Candidates shall have experience and be responsible for course development, up to and including final production as online or in-person courses.
This Is What You’ll Do
- Work with other course SMEs to develop the plan of instruction, create course content, and ensure the final course product meets the expectations of the SME, cadre, and FQS requirements.
- Facilitate the FEMA course evaluation and course design effectiveness, including the piloting phase of course development.
- Ensure the course meets 508 compliance and all other requirements by FEMA for course production.
- Apply expertise in conducting learning needs analyses and design and develop practical learning solutions rapidly using the latest innovations in instructor-led and virtual instructor-led online, mobile, and social learning while also supporting key technology projects to organize and deliver training content in a highly integrated and cohesive manner.
- Collaborate and share best practices in the design and development of learning programs and apply sound instructional design principles, processes, and methodologies
- Implement and integrate new and existing learning technologies and delivery methods, including ILT, vILT, online learning, Webcasts, mobile, social, video, microlearning, and authoring tools
- Identify the most appropriate methods to maximize learning and user engagement
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Possess 1-3 years of experience in instructional system design and a BA/BS degree.
- Ability to pass and maintain a Federal Government background check (or security clearance – Public Trust).
- Must have experience and be proficient in facilitating group discussions and presenting material to large groups; must be an excellent note-taker.
- Must be familiar with the FEMA Qualification System (FQS)
- Experience with FEMA training course development and design and an understanding of FEMA roles and responsibilities are strongly preferred
- FEMA or other relevant disaster field operations or deployment experience is highly desirable
