Overview of Responsibilities:

The Instructional Designer reports to the Director of Learning and Development and is an essential role at Scenthound. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, producing, and managing instructor-led and asynchronous training for virtual and classroom delivery to corporate and franchise teams. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with a cross-functional team of subject matter experts to define the required learning objectives, determine the optimal learning path, and rapidly develop course materials integrating the appropriate technology options with an understanding of the target audience.

This role will also work closely with the Training Manager to promote team skill development including the use of multimedia technology, adherence to styles and standards, and the application of learning theory to content.


  • At least three years of experience in Instructional Design
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, English, Journalism, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and guide team members in instructional design skills and processes
  • Experience in performing training needs analysis on complex initiatives
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal direction
  • Skilled at building rapport through effective interpersonal and written communication
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, and other authoring/production tools
  • Ability to learn new applications, processes, and technologies quickly
  • Willingness to travel up to twice per year for company events

Work Environment 

  • This is an on-site position at our corporate headquarters in Jupiter, FL


  • Design and develop interactive virtual and asynchronous training programs using principles of ADDIE and Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Training Evaluations
  • Storyboard, develop, produce, update, and evaluate training content
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts and other leadership to identify and capture learning and technical requirements for requested curriculum design
  • Transform complex concepts into simple training materials and on-the-job resources
  • Apply an innovative mindset to solving learning design problems that arise during the development process
  • Manage a fast-moving pipeline of content development and validation
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by following up with facilitators and assessing course feedback
  • Research and recommend educational innovations
  • Additional responsibilities as the needs of the business evolve

  • Performance-based bonuses 

Compensation: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
