As an eLearning Content Designer, you are responsible for designing, developing, and producing multimedia content—including videos with motion graphics and text—for a variety of content areas that promotes user engagement and reflects best practices in instructional design and content development. The goal is to facilitate learners’ acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies in ACE courses using eLearning strategies and tools in effective and aesthetically appealing methods. 

Compensation

ACE is committed to paying a competitive wage while staying true to our mission of maintaining high quality, affordable programs for our students. The starting salary range for this position is $60,000, plus all full time employees are eligible for an annual bonus. Offers vary depending on education, prior experience, and expertise being applied to the role.

Day to Day Responsibilities

In this role you will wear different hats, but your skills will be especially essential in the following areas: 

  • Designs and develops eLearning and multimedia course materials that are functional, intuitive, informative, accurate, and consistent with sound instructional design principles focused on adult learning theory. 
  • Develops course materials using multimedia and presentation software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Vyond, Articulate 360, Kaltura, and/or other software as directed by department leadership. 
  • Designs, develops, and produces graphics, audio, animations, and video for eLearning and multimedia content within courses. 
  • Conducts instructional research to stay current with instructional design theories, practices, and methods to support effective and engaging course design elements. 
  • Works closely with department leaders to develop templates for various course and multimedia models. 
  • Provides thorough and detailed quality assurance of all created content. 
  • Analyzes problems, identifies solutions, and implements recommendations. 
  • Follows departmental procedures for utilizing project management software. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BS or MA degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Adult Education, or a related discipline. 
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience preparing multimedia content for web consumption, including videos with motion graphics and text, and publishing interactives using production software/tools such as Articulate Storyline, Vyond (preferred), and Adobe Creative Suite (preferred). 
  • Experience creating and editing voiceovers using software/tools such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or other similar tools; experience using SnagIt and/or similar tools for creating screen-capture images and videos. 
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier, Media Encoder, etc.) and one of the established learning management systems (Canvas LMS highly preferred). 
  • Strong background in Universal Design for Learning concepts, ADA compliance, and web accessibility guidelines.
