Job Summary

The Learning Experience Design Director leads a dynamic team to design, develop, and deliver innovative learning experiences that empower frontline employees across various functions, including field operations, sales, and call centers. The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts and training program managers applying design thinking methodologies and optimizing learning content.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Learning Experience Designers focused on high accountability, execution, and best-in-class learning solutions
  • Define and articulate vision for the learning experience design function
  • Collaborate with business leaders and training program managers to align learning solutions with organizational performance metrics
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in learning design methodologies
  • Oversee the end-to-end design and development of learning solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of frontline employees
  • Establish design thinking, agile and lean processes to design and development projects
  • Utilize customer feedback and data to enhance the effectiveness of learning experiences
  • Work closely with training program teams throughout the process to identify metrics for assessing learning effectiveness and continuous program improvement.
  • Implement criteria that drive content modality, authoring tools, and prioritization.
  • Establish an approach to content curation vs content creation
  • Identify, assess, and integrate emerging trends in learning and development platforms, tools, and experiential learning to enhance employee training programs
  • Leverage generative AI to accelerate development projects

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience with L&D 
  • 7 years in L&D focused on Adult Learning 
  • Expertise in instructional design, program and curricula development
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, learning best practices, learning technology and innovation
  • Experience designing and delivering learning in a variety of modalities; experience with a variety of instructional design and video editing tools
  • Experience with a LMS and other learning technology
  • Strong collaboration, communication, influence, and consulting skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, coaching and feedback skills
  • Experience with authoring tools, such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, Vyond, or similar
