Internship Description

EnCompass LLC is currently seeking a part-time Digital Learning Intern to support our Digital Learning Hub team! We are a team that specializes in designing and developing eLearning and multimedia. In this internship, you will gain valuable experience in the learning and development field and have opportunities to collaborate on a variety of innovative projects, all while being mentored and supported along the way. You will primarily work to help design and develop eLearning courses and multimedia (videos, podcasts, etc.) as well as other special projects as assigned. The ideal person for this position is tech savvy, has good writing skills for storyboarding and scripting, and has a strong interest in gaining experience in the merging of technology and learning best practices. Some experience in Articulate Rise and Storyline, video editing software, and Vyond video animation preferred, although we will train and support your skills development in these tools.

This is a fully remote position.  The internship duration is for Twelve (12) weeks (depending on College Credit requirements) the intern will be required to work 20-25 hours per week. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. 

Experience and Skills

Essential functions and expectations of the role include:

  • Enrollment in or be a recent graduate of a program at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Preferred majors include those with a focus on Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or other related field.
  • Apply the instructional design and eLearning development phases to projects (i.e. design document, storyboard, Alpha, Beta, Gold)
  • Ability to quickly learn software and technology as needed, especially Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Illustrator, and Premiere Pro
  • Ability to apply Section 508 compliance requirements for accessibility in online learning
  • Assist with LMS admin work
  • Excellent organization, time management, written, and oral communication skills
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and responsive to feedback
  • Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in meetings and other activities or events
  • Other duties as assigned.

Anticipated Outcomes

  • Hands-on experience in eLearning and multimedia development, including:
    • Helping to write storyboards and scripts
    • Building and/or revising eLearning modules
    • Developing and editing videos and audio, such as animated videos and podcasts
    • Creating digital learning materials and resources for courses
    • Gaining experience with learning management systems
    • Engaging in phases of the instructional design and development process
    • Practicing communication and collaboration skills with team members
  • Opportunity to work in a team environment with individuals passionate about their roles
  • Insight into working at a professional services firm and learning about what a career in instructional design and eLearning might entail

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Flexible schedule but generally be available during the day or as agreed upon and scheduled by your lead mentor
  • Work closely with teams to meet project deadlines
  • Independently manage time and responsibilities to complete assigned tasks
  • Respond to communications from teammates in a timely manner
  • Check-in with your lead mentor and work buddy about any questions or concerns
