Job Summary

EduDream is seeking a full-time Communications Manager to creatively lead and execute the company’s external communications strategy, amplifying EduDream’s culturally responsive and equity- centered research and strategy for a variety of audiences. The Communications Manager will work in a highly collaborative team environment, engaging team members, partner organizations, clients, funders, and stakeholders beginning with the following three domains: 1) Development and oversight of EduDream’s communications and marketing strategy 2) amplification of EduDream’s research and evaluation reports and resources to a variety of audiences (peer organizations, foundations, education researchers, educators, etc.), 3) dissemination of research findings from the K12 Research for Equity Hub. The successful candidate will bring 5-7 years of digital communications/marketing expertise, including copywriting and design, social media, and project management experience to advance our mission.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and executing EduDream’s marketing and communications strategy
  • Adapting existing research and assets (e.g., reports, presentations, etc.) for effective, high- visibility dissemination to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Designing presentations, report layouts, digital assets, and other materials independently and in collaboration with graphic designer(s)
  • Implementing EduDream’s social media strategy, including development and management of communications calendar and content
  • Driving engagement for the EduDream website and social media channels (currently LinkedIn and Twitter) by planning, writing, scheduling, and updating content
  • Leading planning and delivery of the K12 Research for Equity Hub dissemination plan in collaboration with leadership, funders, and research teams
  • Identifying, monitoring, and analyzing communications success metrics and making recommendations for improvement
  • Managing existing brand assets in collaboration with leadership and broader team
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Our Work Schedule and Environment

This is a remote, full-time position. The Communications Manager will be expected to work Monday- Friday within a set schedule. When safe, our team visits clients in-person at their businesses but will remain a hybrid (though mostly remote) organization. To support remote team success, we use tools like Zoom, Slack, Asana, Google Workspace, cell phones, and laptops, etc. to collaborate with our clients, and with one another.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated, applied working experience in digital communications, journalism, or a related field, preferably in nonprofits, philanthropy, higher education, or the public sector
  • Experience creating, leading, and executing communications strategies with a focus on racial equity, economic equity, education, or allied fields
  • Experience synthesizing research and evaluation findings in clear and accessible language for external audiences
  • Experience developing clear, thought-provoking writing pieces on educational equity, racial equity, or allied fields
  • Demonstrated graphic design skills in Canva or similar design platforms
  • Proficiency with website content management tools (Wix experience preferred) and social media platforms including LinkedIn

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $60,000-$70,000, depending on experience. Benefits include 10 days paid time off per year, 11 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays per year, 5 sick days, a health care stipend, and a professional development reimbursement.
