Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Install and maintain web, application, and authentication server(s); ensures backup copies of all files are routinely made; maintains system documentation.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance with department needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify system problems, recommend solutions, and escalate as necessary.
  • Apply vendor-supplied fixes necessary to repair security vulnerabilities.  
  • Assist in developing plans, schedules, and requirements for the deployment of systems.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers and storage devices.
  • Ability to adapt, integrate, and modify existing programs or vendor-supplied packaged programs for use with existing information systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of relational database systems and SQL tools. Knowledge of the relationship between databases and other software and the interfaces necessary to facilitate a cohesive system.
  • Requires knowledge and/or operation of ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in document creation, management, and imaging.
  • Knowledge of current technology and practices, including application and network security.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) and good interpersonal and organizational skills, with a professional demeanor and strong personal ethics.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to take ownership and complete assigned tasks individually and in a team setting.
  • Detail oriented, with good problem-solving skills and with the ability to anticipate and provide solutions that result in gained efficiencies in business processes and improved customer service.

Experience/ Education

  • Associate degree in computer science, data processing, or related field
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a systems administrator with a background and demonstrated expertise in hardware, documentation techniques, and systems analysis or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated specified experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.
  • Must pass employment background investigation.
