Job Description

We are seeking an energetic and creative video editor to create and edit learning videos using creative storytelling and editing techniques to produce compelling content. The ideal candidate will work closely with our team to ensure we’re creating the best video content that will appeal to learners and viewers.

Responsibilities

• Apply current with state-of-the-art editing technology and best practices for video editing
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency
• Execute editing consistent with customer strategy
• Meet deadlines for reviews and proactively escalate schedule delays and issues to the producer
• Create and/or apply animation and graphics
• Recommend and incorporate music, sound effects, and natural sound when appropriate
• Perform simple color correction and color grading as needed
• Properly encode final deliverables for various platforms
• Name and organize assets according to prescribed naming conventions
• Ensure all assets are prepared for archiving
• Provide constructive feedback on technical issues from shoots
• Work with producer to decide which words and pictures make the cut
• Work with graphic design team to create any animations and other graphics required
• Work with producer to schedule and manage editing time
• Work with producer to understand visuals shot and collect input to inform post-production process
• On-time and on-budget delivery of production project
• Customer satisfaction in review cuts and final visual product

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required

Requirements

• Highly skilled in video editing
• Excellent organizational and self-management skills
• Must enjoy working in a collaborative environment
• Deadline-driven
• Skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator and other applications in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications
• Ability to mix audio and edit music
• Color grading specialty application (e.g. DaVinci) helpful
